I'm Samantha Jeanne Brown
I’m a Full Stack Developer and Interaction Designer based in NYC. I build web apps, games, and interactive experiences at the intersection of engineering and design. I’ve won awards at hackathons at Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and UMD, and I love shipping projects that are technically solid and genuinely fun to use.
Experience
Designed and implemented front-end features in Angular for the Sicura Console, improving usability of compliance automation tools for CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs, and NIST controls. Collaborated with developers and engineers to modernize UI components, integrating with backend APIs.
Collaborated with software developers and marketers to optimize the app’s user experience. Led UX design efforts, creating application prototypes and developing interactive webpages. Contributed to branding and investor presentations.
HCI Club President, CS Association Vice President, and Vega Honor Society PR. Creator and lead Graphic Designer of SUNY Oswego’s annual hackathon LakerHacks. Organized workshops and events focused on UX/UI design and Computer Science.
Strengthened communication and public speaking skills by leading campus tours and presenting at recruitment events. Handled office tasks including scheduling, data entry, and phone support for prospective students.
Skills
Bear Escape won Best UI Design and Best Use of Gemini at Cornell�����s Big Red Hacks 2025. Players keep the beat to help a bear escape — a rhythm game built in 24 hours with TypeScript, Tone.js, and the Gemini API. Fast, polished, and genuinely fun.
LetsHelp won 2nd Place Overall and 1st in the Gemini Track at Georgetown University's HoyaHacks 2026. It's a hands-free, voice-controlled tech support system built with TypeScript and the Gemini API — designed to help elderly users navigate technology without touching a screen.
AirWaves won Best Gamify Hack at Bitcamp 2025 (University of Maryland). Players “conduct” music by moving through an interactive soundscape — built with TypeScript and the Web Audio API with real-time gesture detection. A unique blend of music, game design, and HCI.
